Weekend & Programs Update

This Weekend: Saturday Morning Run – 7:30 Am weather permitting from Acadia.

Saturday Swim is at 9 AM-10:30 AM – No weather Issues anticipated for swimming!!

Triathlon & Half Marathon Program Launch and Meet & Greet: Monday evening at 6 PM @ Acadia Athletic Complex.  Jeff from Kinesiosport Lab is delivering the detailed programs to me Saturday afternoon.  For those wondering about the specifics for group training times he is incorporating our regular club workout times for swimming (Tues/Thurs/Sat am) and our current Tuesday Track night as well as a Thursday evening workout (most likely a run and/or bike depending on the training phase). We will typically meet on Sundays for Long Runs- however weather bombs & holidays may push our runs around a bit.  These programs will allow individuals to juggle the daily workouts and for members of the group to buddy up with members for workouts (especially good for those on shift work or retired etc.).  The season is periodized so that we will be progressively building a base, working on strength & stability, and increasing intensity on a regulated schedule that includes attack weeks and recovery weeks. Monday happens to be a Recovery Day so we will use our first recovery day to go over the program.  I have secured a great spinning studio for group indoor cycling – it will be scheduled to fit our training plan and will be on an evening and/or Saturdays. Suitable for Duathletes and other multisport participants. Note that we will be using a private FB page for the members of thse two training groups .  Our Tuesday evening and long runs will still be open for members of the club but those workouts will be of a general nature.

Coming in March is a Learn2Run 5 km Program with Stella Chen.  We are looking for a co-leader for this program.
